What is Maharashtra MahaStudent App
MahaStudent mobile application is developed for School Education & Sports Department, Govt. of Maharashtra. Teachers assigned to a particular standard and division in a school on SARAL portal can register by using MahaStudent mobile App. The Students in catalogue are made available on mobile for submitting daily attendance as well as filling examination marks.

Submitting daily attendance at MahaStudent App
- The students in a catalogue are listed for the selected standard and division. Teacher marks the absent student for the current date selected and submits attendance.
- The location and time are stored along with the attendance.
Filling examination marks at Maha Student Mobile App
Teacher declares the students absent for examination.
Teacher selects the type of examination and by selecting a particular student ent ers question wise marks. Connectivity is not required for marks filling. After completing the task, sync to server option submits the marks on SARAL.

Performing Grading Index System for School Students
Central govt. has come up with a Performance Grading Index system (PGIS). In this, there are some points for enabling schools to record the attendance of teachers and students online. That’s how the state government decided to develop the MahaStudent app. If any student is bunking school, teachers can record absenteeism with just a few easy clicks. This way, teachers will not need to maintain a separate attendance register. Besides, their own attendance record will also be maintained on Mahastudent app.
The Performance Grading Index system, first introduced by the Union education ministry in 2019, evaluates the performance of states in school education across various parameters such as enrolment ratio, governance and management, learning outcomes, and so on.
Checking Students and Teachers Bunking School
Maharashtra government already has a digital platform where information about all schools, appointment of teachers, and enrolment of students is maintained. There is a huge emphasis on digital schools and adoption of technology by teachers under the Pragat Shaikshanik (Progressive Learning) Maharashtra Programme. The MahaStudent app takes this a step forward.
